The Experiment
The Experiment:

The Experiment is a si-fi styled escape room where groups of about 6-8 will go in and try to complete different tasks to escape with a time limit off 20mins and will be allowed a maximum of 3 Hints. They will enter the room and they need to find the cure to be able to leave therefore "Saving The World"

The escape room. has a budget of £200 that needs to be made back with ticket sales hopefully making profit afterwards. It will be spent between set deign, Hair, Makeup, Props, and sound and lighting if needed. There would be some contingency money too if absolutely needed.
The Plot:

-
The audience walk into the canteen (dressed as a waiting room). They are shown an introductory video on the screens. An assistant with a clipboard will walk into the room through the fire escape. They will walk the players outside and then into camera and lighting, while giving them warnings for health and safety. They will walk through a narrow corridor, with warning signs. It will also have actors in it, with SFX makeup. The scientist will then enter, bringing the players into the main room.
-
He walks the audience to his scientific equipment, which includes test tubes, conical flasks, tubes, clamps, etc.
-
As he speaks, he combines some chemicals and smoke begins to emerge. The scientist panics and presses an emergency button. Alarms blare and the scientist begins to breathe heavily. His breathing turns into coughing and spluttering, as he rolls up his sleeve to reveal intense burns and blackening veins.
-
The scientist slumps in the corner of the room, growing weaker. He points to a lab coat and whispers hoarsely “the pockets” before falling seemingly unconscious.
-
Inside the lab coat’s pocket is a letter. It states: “This is an emergency message written by Dr. Painter. You must find the CuRe. If this virus is released, millions of lives will be put on the line. I wish you luck.”
-
As they finish reading the letter, the doctor will regain consciousness and begin to writhe and groan in the corner.
-
They may see the capital letters in ‘CuRe.’ These capitals indicate that they are chemical symbols.
-
Using the periodic table on the wall in the viewing gallery, the audience will deduce that the chemical symbols are Copper and Rhenium. A cupboard is labelled “Chemicals” which the audience will search through to find beakers with Copper and Rhenium. Inside these beakers will be slime and one of the beakers will contain a key. The key will unlock a second cupboard.
-
Inside the second cupboard, there will be a magnet. This will be used for a magnetic maze with a metal item inside, where one person can see the maze and the other person is behind it with the magnet. The person who can see it has to guide the person with the magnet.
-
The metal item will be a key. This key will be for the desk drawer.
-
The diary will be inside and it will have a piece of paper in it with morse code of "BED." They will use a morse code poster to translate it.
-
The players will then search the bed, finding the final key for the 3rd cupboard on the underside of it. This will be an opportunity for the actor on the bed to scare the group. The key will unlock the cupboard with the antidote inside.
-
Once the antidote is given to the scientist, the doors open and the audience are escorted out of the room by 2 people in white jumpsuits and masks. They have completed their task and saved countless lives, including that of the scientist.

Day 2
Day Two (Plotting):

On Tuesday we finished cabling for fixtures making sure the dmx chain worked correctly and finished running all power to fixtures and did a general focus of the profile fixtures but our rig was mainly Automated fixtures.
After this we then began plotting using radios to communicate as our lighting desk was in a separate room (Control Room) where we also had cameras of the room so we could see the escape room.
The Set was also had been finished put together.

What Went Well?
Overall our project went extremely well and was very effective for our audiences, In this project, my communication skills have improved throughout this prosses and overall it was nice to work on as the inter relating worked well as we communicated with set design and the creative team to pull a great show together I also communicated a lot of my ideas through this time compared to previous projects like putting birdies (Par 16s) with red gells outside to light up walls and to create a sinister effect and lighting shadows with things such as the airconditioning cages making it look sinister.
What could be improved?
Although I need to improve more on being under time pressure as it affected the cable management not to mention halfway through rigging cabling the DMX chain changed direction due to the other techs' wishes to release certain fixtures that had to be first on the chain.
I also relied heavily on radios a lot as well making people not go around and find what they need.
One of the main things I need to improve on is not stressing under a time limit. I also could improve on our pre-production stage as we could use more planning and slightly more communication and management within this stage. Within the whole process, the thing that challenged me the most was the communication part as I struggled to communicate with others and job roles switched a few times.
What skills have I developed?

I developed my Practical skills in rigging fixtures and running cabling and power but also continued to try to build up as much as possible my communication and soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and following a professional and productive working environment and working as best as possible under time limits wich have been worked on in previous projects. But I would like to work on both soft and hard skills as much as possible to work to the best of ,my abilitys.
