Proscenium Arch / End On Staging:

Proscenium staging is one of the most common types of staging and is also known as end on staging the audience is only on one side of the stage.

It also can be a raked stage and can sometimes include a apron at the front of the stage to make the stage larger and extends further than the arch id it is a proscenium arch it can sometimes be problematic because of the sound can be trapped behind the arch.

Traverse:

Traverse staging is where the audience is on two sides of the stage this can be rather awkward for large set pieces as it may block the audiences view. this type of staging is like catwalk and is mainly used for fashion shows and such.

Thrust:

Thrust staging is when the audience are on three sides of the stage either side and in front this can prove awkward due to trying to light the stage and not blinding the audience while you do so.

Promenade:

Promenade theatre is situated outside and the audience follows the actors this type of there can be very interactive but also possibly problematic and there can be a-lot to think about as you have to take into consideration the weather and how you will transport props etc.

In The Round:

In the round staging is when the audience completely surrounds the stage so the actors need to try and face most of the audience and have to stay constantly moving. it can also be rather difficult to light as the audience is on all sides and you need to try not to blind the audience
