Once you know what sounds you need for your production, you can start sourcing them. You can do this multiple ways, either through going out and recording them yourself from the internet. Both have advantages and disadvantages:
- The internet has a-lot of sounds you can download.
- If you record your own sounds, you can get exactly what you're looking for, and you can record sounds in the manner best suited to you and your production, however, good quality equipment can be expensive, and certain sounds are going to be very difficult to find and/or recreate yourself. Its also much more time consuming than downloading sounds off the internet.
I like to use a mixture of both, trying to find what I can from the internet and then filling in the blanks with my own recordings.
