Sound Final Project:
Sound - Final Project:
Create a sound design in QLAB and a accompanying documentation, for the opening scene of A Ghost Story.

Providing Links of the used sourced sounds,
Recording own sound effects,
And using Adobe Audition to edit.

Our Documentation should include;
-
Initial sound notes
-
A visual mood board
-
Recording notes
-
A cue sheet
-
And a few paragraphs documenting what has been done.
MoodBoard:
Why a mood board is used:

We use mood boards in sound to present and think about different ideas and putting them all together and can be presented to the director or other members of the production team so they can add any ideas or change things if needed or not liked. A mood board is useful to present the ideas they have and they can also go into research of the time, place and era so the sounds fit in with that era such as if the music is old you would want it to sound as if it was coming from a record player rather than a more modern system this can be done through software such as adobe audition and cue lab.

Cue Sheet & Notes:
Why a Cue Sheet is used:

We use cue sheets so everyone knows what order the sound will go in and what sound effects are used and what is sourced or what is recorded they can use the cue sheet to give to the DSM (Deputy stage manager) to add the cues into the prompt copy and most likely they will be operating cue lab.

Why this is useful and what its used for:

Sourcing sounds from free sounds is use-full as if you cant particular record sounds as you may not have the equipment or may not be able to get the sound effects to record.
Evaluation:
Sound Project Evaluation:
For the sound project, I worked on my Qlab skills learning how to do things such as add fades or how to make them continue on. I also worked on adobe audition, where I needed to shorten the song old Macdonald and edit it so it was creepy and sinister, where I added effects such as reverb etc.
Eventually, I could improve on these skills by learning different effects and how to use them and also how to use Qlab more and things such as operating Av from cue lab like projections this was done in Beauty and the Beast and Pages at the Old rep theatre. You can do things such as closing the shutters on a projector so you can't see the light from it.
